Brandon and I decided to visit the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC (http://www.biltmore.com/) I've been wanting to go there ever since I moved here plus this was Brandon's last Spring Break vacation so we decided to party it up! We booked a 4 day/3 night stay and 2 outdoor activities. The 2 outdoor activities we chose were: sporting clays (don't know why they use that term instead of skeet shooting?) and segway tour.
The Segway tour was our first 'event' and Brandon and I were TOTALLY excited about this one. The first part of the session was learning how to get on and off it as well as 'drive' it. After a few shaky steps we were off and 'segway'ing' around the Biltmore property.
This is us with the back of the Biltmore house behind us!
Here's a video of us in motion...and seeing what it looks like if I post a video!
The next day we were suppose to do the Sporting Clays but mother nature had different plans. From the video you could tell it was windy the entire time and eventually the rain showed up. But this gave us the perfect opportunity to tour the Biltmore house. That place is HUGE! If you ever get a chance, take a tour and you'll be impressed! Another thing that impressed the us was the food at Stable Cafe. Brandon and I decided to order 2 different dishes and switch half way. Since it was rainy and little cold I ordered the Chicken Pot pie and Brandon ordered the Jalapeño Burger! Yeah switching half way didn't happen because that burger was to die for! On our last day we went back and both ordered the Jalapeño burger. The Pages don't share when there's good food!
So back to our last event....Sporting Clays. The weather cooperated on our last day and we were able to go out with our instructor. Fortunately for us we were the only ones booked for this so we had the instructor all to ourselves. I was so glad because I've never been comfortable with rifles/guns so this was the place for me to get over my fears! I was going to be shooting with a 10-gauge over under...I still have no clue what that means?!?! Brandon shot with a 12-gauge Beretta automatic. Brandon has been around guns most of his life so he had no problems. In fact he did very well on the course. He was good enough to take out 'clays' 2 at a time! The best part about it all was that Brandon and I BOTH made the difficult shot - shooting the clay as it bounced along the ground. Remember...we still had the wind working against us so I was really proud that I made this shot!
The instructor showing me where the clays will be coming from.
Look out! I'm armed and semi-dangerous!

My arms were so sore after shooting! I swear that rifle gained weight every time I picked it up. It was definitely a workout worthy of ice cream, so that's what Brandon and I did afterwards. Next to the outdoor center was a cool outdoor pavilion that had ice cream and iron workers showing their craft. They were showing how they made these cool leaf key chains as souvenirs. I had to pick one up as a remembrance of our 2nd anniversary trip. So next time you see me...just ask and I'll show you the leaf on my key chain! Also next to the outdoor center was a petting farm. And guess what....they had CHICKENS! Not very many people know this but I LOVE chickens so I just had to catch one.
Brandon made a new friend!
After all the Biltmore excitement we had one thing left to do - go see Brandon's Grandparents! A hop, skip and a jump and we were in SC. Gran and Papa are the coolest and I was equally excited to see them again! I even got to go for a run in their neighborhood. Unfortunately we were so excited to see them that we never took any pictures...next time. The one shot we have is the mess we left.
